FASHION ILLUSTRATION

This four-class series will show you how to take your fashion and/or costume ideas in your mind to life on paper in full color! For students who would like to pursue design as a hobby or career and want to improve their rendering skills.

Students will work from photographs and other sources to learn various figure drawing/painting skills. You will learn:

correct proportion of figures

how to capture and render poses with distinct attitude

how to render texture and shading

painting techniques utilizing watercolor, ink dyes, colored pencil, and felt tip markers useful in illustrating your own fashion and costume designs.

Your instructor, Susan Branch, holds an MFA in Costume Design from the Yale School of Drama, and she has designed and created costumes for over 100 professional productions nation wide.

Six Students per class
Four 3 1/2 hour classes
